Bespoke Poppy Necklace

Poppy-Necklace

I’d been looking for a piece of silver jewellery for my wife to commemorate the birth of our granddaughter Poppy in June 2019 but I couldn’t find anything suitable. I contacted Marna to see if she could provide a bespoke piece and to my delight she said yes. What she provided was the most beautiful Poppy flower pendant that took my wife’s breath away and which is now is her favourite item of jewellery. Cannot recommend more highly.”

Bespoke Turquoise Necklace

‘I can’t thank Marna enough for creating such a stunning piece for my Nanny’s birthday. I commissioned Marna to make a turquoise birthstone necklace with a magnetic clasp and my Nanny was absolutely delighted with her gift. She had been looking for something like this for years in shops and Marna was able to make her a perfect bespoke piece, unique to my Nanny. Marna involved me in every step of the process; allowing me to select the stone, setting and chain, so it was exactly to my Nanny’s taste. I will definitely be asking Marna to create and design unique pieces of jewellery in the future.  Thanks so much!’

HANDMADE STERLING SILVER JEWELLERY

CRAFTED IN NORTHERN IRELAND BY MARNA

Hi, welcome to Marna Bell Jewellery (that’s me!). I live in Carnmoney, Co. Antrim in Northern Ireland.

Life takes many turns - mine got me into silversmithing as a hobby, just because I couldn’t find nice silver stud earrings to wear! So, I decided to look into how to make my own.

I started with a one day taster course at Ulster University, Belfast School of Art. At one point panic did set in, as I discovered I would be using a saw, hammers, files, a rolling mill and - a butane torch to solder! But…I was hooked within the first ten minutes! Here is my very first attempt at silversmithing:

I signed up for several evening classes at the Ulster University over the next few years to help me understand the basics; however, I am mainly self taught.

When you visit Marna Bell Jewellery you will see I have quite an eclectic taste in jewellery.  Nature, especially flowers etc., inspires my designs, but I also love clean lines and shapes. I also enjoy the challenges of making hollow form jewellery. I love having to figure out how to create the pieces I see quite clearly in my mind - how to cut out and shape the silver; combine the small intricate pieces; even just how to make a necklace sit right on a chain!

Please sign up below for my newsletter, which will let you know when new items are added. You can of course unsubscribe at anytime.

I’m still on a journey discovering and learning lots of new things I want to try to make. I hope you will come on this journey with me.
